Meet the Team

Our people are among the most talented in the industry. It would be our pleasure to put our extensive experience to work for you.

Ms. Karla - Owner/Director

Infant/Toddler Teacher

As a leader in the field and with twenty+ years of experience, Mrs. Karla has happily worked with children of all ages. She began her career in the field as an Educational Aide in the DC public school system, working with both preschool age and grade school age students. After receiving her BS degree in Early Childhood Education, she began working with an early childhood institution, teaching preschoolers. In 2007 she began work in early childhood administration and it is here that she found her home. Through strong communication and an open mind, she has fostered many trusting and lasting relationships with families. As the Learning Center's Director, she looks forward to growing the program and leading the team in continuing great communication and the building of a solid foundation for lasting relationships.

Ms. Dinahetta -

Program Manager

Infant/toddler/PS Teacher

Ms. Dinahetta began her career with young children while still in college, as a seasonal employee, working with children aged 0-5 years. After graduating from Norfolk State University in 2005, with a BS in Early Childhood Education, she joined an early childhood program - working as a Co-Lead Teacher in their preschool program. During her time at that center she worked as a Preschool teacher, Pre-K teacher and eventually, the Program Coordinator... Overseeing the planning and implementation of age/developmentally appropriate curriculum for the entire center.

After leaving, Dinahetta continued working in child care administration and went on to hold various positions with different companies. Most recently, she worked for three years as the Center Director for another DC child development center, where she gained both significant knowledge and experience leading a center, overseeing a full staff and working directly with children and families of children with special needs.

She is an awesome mom of three; Kennedy (11)), Jurnee (6) and Jace (4), a lover of music, a creative thinker, an energetic spirit and completely passionate about this very important work we do everyday. It is my sincere belief that both Ms. Dinahetta's vast experience and extensive knowledge in this field, make her a great asset to the New Life program and a truly welcomed addition to the family!
